Course Description:

This 8-week online course is designed to help artists of all levels rediscover their creative spark, overcome creative blocks, and cultivate a sustainable artistic (self-care) practice. Through a combination of playful hands-on exercises, insightful self-reflections and discussions, and self-exploration, you’ll learn to tap into your intuition, embrace imperfection, and find joy in the creative process.

Course Structure:

  • Weekly Sessions (1-1.5 Hours): Each session will involve a set of concepts to consider, several creative exercises, and self-reflection questions that are integrated into weekly “check-in” discussions
  • Weekly Check-Ins (1 Hour): These group zoom sessions will focus on processing individual experiences and providing personalized feedback.
  • Homework (Daily):
  • Morning Pages (30 Minutes): Dedicate time to freewriting, letting your thoughts and feelings flow onto the page without judgment.
  • Artist Dates (Once a Week): Schedule outings that spark inspiration and ignite your inner artist (e.g., museum visits, concerts, nature walks).
  • Creative Exercises (1-3 per week): These will be provided in the course materials and build upon the weekly themes

List for the Course

Many of the items on the materials list are not mandatory, however, for a full experience, I recommend getting as many tools as you can to play with. The items that are most necessary will be marked with an asterisk (*). There are many useful items for your practice that you can find in your own home.

If you do not have access to paint, then get a simple watercolor set from the local Walmart/Target Craft Section. Anything you can use to make large swaths of color. A kid-version of art supplies work! If you are an artist you will have plenty of options at your hands!
