- Our Program uses National Standards to frame our course material so students fulfill their educational requirements per grade level.
- Each Unit is designed to provide enough material, when completed in its entirety, to be included in a Student Portfolio.
- You determine the depth of prior knowledge your child brings to the program. Options are included to increase or decrease the level of difficulty required to complete the lessons, projects and other components.
- Lessons are arranged by subject and are purchased individually.
- Units are organized by Theme and must be purchased together.
- Each Unit contains a set of lessons which when completed will provide a complete curriculum based upon the Theme. These can not be divided or substituted.

All Lessons and Units follow the Akitsu Active Learning template which includes:

- Lessons and Units are accessible with a password after purchase
- Units are accessed one lesson per week for the duration of the Lessons
- A Ten-week Unit will release each Lesson within that Unit once each week. This allows for the student to have a timeframe reference to help develop proper planning and guide themselves from beginning to completion in increments of learning.
- The Lessons contained within each Unit are scaffolded or curated to progress the learner through the Akitsu Across the Curriculum educational content so that true learning is acquired.
